I am getting ready for the possibility of taking on a new church. It is hard to say whether I am having misgivings or just nerves. A church to me is not a temporary thing. I become responsible to them and they to me. A group of strangers must form a relationship with the most foreign individual as the leader. This is not an easy task nor is it human nature to do so.

However, that’s what church is all about. Trusting in God not ourselves. Trusting that God will send a church the pastor they need to get them through the coming year. Trusting that God will equip that church with everything they need to face the challenges ahead.

It’s hard enough to do as a church but what about if you’re that person God called to lead?
